Nostalgia Transplant
Sci-fi short film writen, directed and composited by Yuxing Xu,
exploring the past, present, and future of the L.A. River.
Synopsis: In a future world where people archive history as interactive virtual reality experiences called “Vistories,” "Nostalgia Transplant" introduces the "Vistorian" to relive the LA river's historical stages. His emotional journey reveals a perplexing choice: to preserve a distorted river in the digital realm. Is it sanctuary, manipulation, or a reflection of his story?

I worked on the VFX for the timelapse painting sequences around 3:00 and the final dramatic zoom-out shot around 4:00.
